Default Questions for nail tech

After reading several posts on this subject, I’ve decided to take the leap. I made an appointment next week to get acrylic nails on three fingers of my right hand.

What questions, or, directions should be directed to the nail tech? I do know that I want the nails to look as normal as possible, with little to no gloss/shine.

At age 73, this is a major step lol!

All opinions are appreciated.

Tell the tech that this is for practical, not aesthetic purposes, so you want them thicker than usual. Ask the tech to emory board them smooth then hit them with buffing paste and a buffing wheel on the dremel. They start off a little bit shinier than the regular nails but dull down in hours as you use them.

You may want to add that the lengths are as you want them (if they are). If they loose length in the prep, please restore the length with the acrylic.
