Such a classy look, love that understated apparence.
And I am sure it will sound at least as good as it looks.

Enjoy it!

Cheers,
Tom

OK, I know you're busy relaxing and playing, but what's the verdict?!

The pics are awesome. I love how the snakewood buttons blend with the maddie headstock. I always love the understated elegance of John's guitars. What surprised you the most about the guitar?

Hey! Thanks for that, I really like the simple look and snake wood buttons as well! Was hoping to have a review but John had a little setback and wasn’t able to complete. It is supposed to now ship this week and I’ll get it on Friday if all goes as planned. The anticipation is killing me!

Yeah, I heard about that. He stepped through the top. He got most of the pieces glued back together though. Minus some splinters, you can barely see his size 11 shoe silhouette.

Huh, I guess John must be trying to downplay it. Size 11, indeed!

Wanted to let it sit in it's case for a little while to let it acclimate. I've spent about an hour with it this morning thanks to my son's double header soccer game getting canceled for snow, got to love Spring in Colorado.

I've been playing it in Standard tuning for now and just marveling at John's workmanship (and sniffing the wood - mmmm). The guitar is flawless, when others talk about John's attention to detail, folks aren't kidding around! John really nailed the look I wanted - simple & understated, although the Madagascar back is killer! and makes it super sexy. I am really glad John steered me to this particular set of German Spruce for the top. I play 90% fingerstyle and play with a soft touch and this guitar is very responsive already. It still needs to open up and is a little tight right now as it still needs to realize that it is a guitar but first impressions of the guitar have really exceeded my expectations!! I really didn't give John any input other to build me a killer lightweight OM in the spirit of a 1930 Martin OM.

The set up is dead perfect, getting it Plek'd is something I'd highly recommend for those on the fence, the fretwork is flawless.

I'll try to get a youtube video up here soon to show it off some more. Back to playing!
