Tried 'em on a 2014 D-18, they were ok but they were lights & that guitar likes Mediums so not a real fair evaluation but still they were ok.

They seem to like spruce/rosewood more than spruce/mahogany. At least to my ears.

I really like them on my 000-28. Have tried them on a couple of other wood combos and did not like them as much.

tried them on my S & P showcase CH (Spruce and Rosewood).

Its a bright sounding guitar to begin with and they made it even brighter & almost harsh metallic sounding

Yuck!

I had a set on my '72 D35 and they sounded pretty darn good. I got two sets in that $15 deal with capo they had a few months back. They were especially nice sounding when I switched the bridge pins to Buffalo horn. If I can buy more sets at $7 I'll stock up on a few sets. But at $12/set they're not worth it to me when I can get an equally nice (or better) sound on my D35 with $7.50 DR Sunbeams.

I did not like the NB's on my Taylors.

It is very interesting to hear the varied replies in this post.
For me, the NB strings are incredible on guitars with mahogany back and sides, and don't sound nearly as good on rosewood back and sides. My go-to Southern Jumbo just loves them, but I'll keep using Phosphor Bronze strings on rosewood guitars.
We've also strung up most of the Waterloos in the shop with the Nickel Bronze and they seem to suit the small bodied, midrange emphasized guitars of this type very well.

All my Archrtops are now wearing the Nickel Bronze 1256s. They work fie.
Haven't put them on any flattops...... Ijust don't feel that white metal strings "look right" on a flat top.

Am I crazy ?
