Default Winter NGD...staring at the box

...this is the part I hate about winter NGDs. I know, I know...it’ll be worth it. But I still hate it.

Hey Rev
What kind of Taylor did you get there? I thought the tops were different on Taylor’s that you didn’t have to worry about temperature changes affecting the cracking of the tops unlike Martin’s

Happy holidays

You can at least enjoy the fact that the box looks in great shape. I have seen some guitar box deliveries this time of the year that look pretty scary.
I recommend a warm beverage and binging on youtube vids of some of your favorite players to pass the time.

Best,
Jayne

Such a naughty little tease you are

Yep...you’re right. Not nitro. But just to be sure I’m leaving it alone at least until after lunch.

Since it’s so close to Christmas I’d better be a good boy and tell you. It’s a new V-braced 714ce.

No such luck. I’ll be killing time this morning with a dentist appointment.

Looking at a box is better then living in a box. How can you stand the waiting...

The UV cured polyester finish on Taylor guitars is more robust than the nitrocellulose used on Martin's, but some caution is still advised. The finish is not invincible, and the solid wood will still contract and expand with temperature changes. I too am awaiting a delivery later this week, but it is a carbon fiber guitar, so I won't have to worry.

Rev Roy, if it's been a few hours you can certainly take the case out of the box by now. Just give it a little more warming time before opening the case, to be safe. And congrats! I played one of those at a Road Show recently, and it is a NICE guitar.

Congrats!

Yeah the waiting.

A couple years ago, Exactly this time of year... I ordered a Martin 000-18 from Sweetwater.

Fedex Showed "Out for delivery" all day. I waited until 11PM and it still wasn't delivered yet.

Went to bed... Woke up 2am (to pee) and checked my phone.. DELIVERED 12:30AM.

Dang if the box wasn't on the porch.. snow swirling.. I was so happy to have woken up!

Cheers!

Unless it came from a northern state and flew in an airplane at freezing temperatures, there is no need not to open it. You're in Oklahoma and it was likely there for 24 hours or more.

Could be worse — it could have to hide somewhere until Santa officially delivers it to you in a couple of weeks! I’m counting down to Christmas morning with as much anticipation as my kids this year

Excited to see what you’ve got there — and it looks like it will round out a nice trio of guitars!
