Default Losing someone in a store

I was at Canadian Tire (hardware store) this morning and an upset woman walks by and says to herself and I guess myself "This is ridiculous, how does one lose a 6 foot husband". lol.

Anyone have any stories about losing someone in a large dept store or mall?

Probably happens every day, but this week I was at Lowe's and while I was looking at thermostats a woman told one of the sales crew she was looking for a stud finder. I yelled out be careful how you answer that question....we all laughed.... She said she expected worse...

Prior to cell phones (getting old) we always had a designated meet-up spot and time if we went to a large store or the Mall. Now you just text or call.

My wife and I hit malls/outlet centers whenever we're on the road, and since the days before cell phones became de rigeur we've been carrying those walkie-talkies hikers/hunters/fishermen et al. use; we set a rendezvous point/time, go our separate ways, and meet up when we're done - no problem...

Cell phones are so common now that I can't remember the last time losing sight of someone was a problem...

But I'm old enough to remember that it used to be the norm to hear someone being paged over the store intercom...

Isn't that the only reason one would go to a mall? One goes to the Apple store the other to the guitar store.

Lol. Same here. Back when I felt obliged to accompany her to the mall she’d disappear and still take her sweet time to respond to texts. I would often grumble loudly that I was going to tie a freaking bell on her.

Now with Amazon Prime I get to stay home and let her shop on her own. It’s her alone time.

Just me ...
I have to admit while I can hike all day in the Rocky Mountains and never carry a compass, and never get lost , I get completely turned around in malls

Usually my wife. I gave up a long time ago to tracking her down and just sit in the front of the store and wait for her to find me.

My wife is 5 feet tall if she’s wearing heels. She also reads the small print on labels of items she has no interest in buying.

A trip to the store with her can turn into a scavenger hunt.

I automatically build extra time into every shopping trip.

I once saw a guy trying to loose a security guard in a shopping centre.

I actually bought a couple two way radios so I could find her in a store. She couldn't figure them out. A month later I got her a cellphone. She figured *that* out.

Before that I would scan the store walking along the aisles looking down them. If I really got frustrated, I'd holler her name at the top of my voice. She hated that. 😆

She's passed on now. ❤️ I miss going to stores with her. We would both browse and look look look. I now have a girl friend that gets in and out. Drives me nuts.
