I believe the Stainless steel is for Electric guitars. Not to say that it would not be an interesting experiment to put them on acoustics.
In the past, I have done that with D'Addario Electric guitar strings...put them on an acoustic. works O.K..but you loose volume and that wonderful PB round sound.

I'll be interested to learn what you find K&G. I have a walnut guitar too and when I first put the Newtone Heritage on it I had one of those "Ahhhh" moments! The guitar doesn't need low tension strings but for some reason it is a combination that works really well.

My Newtone order arrived today, 28 days after ordering. The timing was perfect since the Martin Titanium strings on the CEO-7 died yesterday. So far I like love the sound and feel. Going to try the 2nd set on the Guild M-20 when the time comes to change strings.

Am hoping I continue to like the sound and that I can get enough life out of them so I have a cheaper option than my current favorite Martin Titanium strings. Thanks to OP for bringing these to my attention.

Thanks for the follow up.
I see we ordered near identical gauge sets - round wound. nickel plated steels.

Mine are still here, haven't had a chance to try them yet. I put fresh strings on nearly all my guitars just before they turned up but your response sounds positive.

I've only ever read good reports about those double wounds so let us know how you find them.
I'm particularly interested how they'll sound on your F-512.

Hope you like them Joe. Did you order direct to Newtone?

Yes.. I did order them direct from Newtone. I have heard a lot of good things about Newtones.. and since I have been spending extra money on the Thomastik Infeld brand while experimenting... I wanted to give these strings a try as well.

Good to hear; I was a bit worried that they may not ship to the US.
I went to Newtone from TI...specifically changing from TI Plectrums (great strings) to Newtone Heritage (great string at lower price!)

The first set just hit the stage where they need to be replaced. For non-coated, non-treated strings they made a valiant effort at resisting my acidic fingers, almost as long as I get from Martin Retro’s.

I’ll spare everyone the math but for me they work out cheaper per hour played than Martin Titanium’s bought at the standard $40 per set, but more expensive than the 20% discount I can usually get on the Titanium’s during the Christmas holidays.

But financial’s aside, I absolutely love the sound. To my ear the Newtones are like the love child of Martin Titanium’s and the Martin Lifespan MSP7100’s I used before going down the Monel/Nickel path. With the Newtones I can get the “woody” sound I love from the Titanium’s but can also get some of the brighter sound I like from the Lifespan’s.

I already ordered a resupply of the Newtone customs plus a couple sets of the Newtone Monel strings posted about on AGF. Just when I thought my string assignments were set ...

Nice follow up penname.
I particularly like your reference with Martin Titanium.
I have a Newtone custom set on my rosewood jumbo and they are excellent.

I tried John Pearse Pure Nickel strings for the very 1st time just 4 days ago. Put them on my maple Huss & Dalton MJ Custom and they have been a very pleasant surprise.
Very nice, I ordered a spare set.
