Sting uses a Sennheiser and loves it. What is your model?

Hi eyesore

How does it sound? Unless you are appearing on the Tonight Show (and they will have better mics available) you are probably just fine.

Sennheiser make great mics but without a model number it’s a bit hard to have a specific opinion!

Basically 800 series is sort of equivalent to the Shure SM. The 900 series is more like the Beta range. I prefer the e945 to the Beta 58 by a long way.

If it sounds good to you it’s probably all good!

The e835 is a solid mic. Retail is around $100, and sale prices go for around $89. Some retailers have a 3 pack deal for $280 with cables and stands. They compare favorably to the Shure SM58 with a little boost in the midrange and less muddy sounding in the lower midrange.

I've used the 835 for years with good success. I recently upgraded to the 945 and like it a bit better but the 835 will serve you well!

These are workhorse mics. Like the sm57/58.
They sound good and are durable.
You can certainly pay more for a better sound.
You can always pay more for a better sound. ha..
