Default K&K Pre Phase?

I recently acquired a Kevin Kopp "Hummingbird" that came with a LR Baggs Lyric the previous owned has installed. Not being a fan of the Lyric and a big fan of the K&K mini I decided to order a mini. Then I noticed John @ Shoreline had one of the new Pre Phase K&K mini"s which looks to be a basic onboard preamp with volume wheel and phase switch. I've used K&K passive mini's alone and with the Pure XLR preamp and have one guitar with the Ultra Pure System.

Just curious what anyone might have too say about the Pre Phase set up?

Many thanks!

I've used them. They are good. If you love the sound of the K&K in your guitar, as is, then this will make it louder, cleaner, and match impedance. If you need EQ and other features, just leave it passive and get the proper external preamp. No sense in having a battery preamp in the guitar if you need to shape it once it leaves the guitar anyway.
