I´ve been using one since last year with my classical guitar, it sounds great and its very convenient, good signal to feedback ratio, I've done many concerts with i, . no more carrying microphone stands.
If you need to play with other loud instruments on a small stage you need to combine it with something else though, the same if you play in a small bar where the audience is really loud. I use a Carlos CS sensor for that and blend them with a Headway EDB-2. Some people feel that it can fall off the guitar easily or it limits their access to higher frets or some percussive options but thats not the case for me. Here is a review I did recently: Konstantine |

I love my DPA 4099G.
I use a piece of real gaffer tape to hold the clip against the side of the guitar. Amazing mic, accurate sound. None of that piezo quack! Last edited by Tico; 11-01-2017 at 11:37 PM. |

I bought and used the 4099 a bit. Was impressed at first but after a while I found it awkward to use and prone to feedback from floor wedges. Then one day I compared it to a Shure SM81 on a mic stand in front of the guitar. The sound of the SM81 won by a mile so I sold my 4099 on eBay. I still have the SM81. It's a classic mic that you see in recording studios as well as on stage.
