For years I thought the BeeGees "Stayin' Alive" was "Day in the Life".

I try to say goodbye and I choke
Try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, its clear
I wear goggles when you're not here

Instead of “Big old jet airliner” I thought it was “Big old Jed had a line on”

Yes, could be seen as mildly offensive but extremely funny! It was the first thing I thought of when I read the post. Well worth a look

Celine Dion- ".............Near, far ,wherever you are, I believe that the hot dogs go on....."

It still sounds that way to me, along with "I wanna know, have you ever seen Lorraine ".

For many years I thought the last line of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was "You'll go down in his story"

We have a children's book called, "Olive, the other reindeer."

She's the one who laughs and calls poor Rudolph names.

Was that written by Drew Barrymore?

I wonder if a tendency to mishear lyrics is an indication of a creative mind.

No, Vivian Walsh. I only knew of the book until I just searched it up, and they made the book into a animated movie with the voice of, you guessed it, Drew Barrymore.

I think also it's combination of a lot of words or phrases sounding similar, singers not enunciating clearly or just being hard to hear, and the human need to try and make sense out of words.

Although just having fun and purposefully mishearing lyrics, like "headlice on the highway", is rather creative.

Or a desperate attempt to make sense of things by people (like me) with hearing loss. It gets crazy I tell ya'.

In Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video, they grunge around in a school gym singing, "Here we are now, entertain us". I originally heard the lyrics as, "Here we are now, entertainers", which I thought was good, like they were as surprised as anyone to be up there performing. When I realized my mistake I definitely preferred my initial version.

In Ceelo Green's "Forget You", I first heard the lyrics as:
Said, "If I was richer, I'd still be with ya"
Ha, now ain't that some shhhhhh?

And I thought the "shhhh" was like a librarian would do and was a comment on how it made him humble. Once I figured that one out I preferred my version as well.

I just don't understand why all these bands don't get my opinion before they release songs since I could help them out so easily.
