Default NFL 2019 - Week 3: Spreading the love

Sorry Dru. I made a preemptive week 3 thread because I want to talk about these crazy spreads.

Pats now favored by 22.5 and Boys favored by 20.5. Those are some historically large spreads. You don't see 20+ spreads too often, especially on the same week.

If that holds, the Pats also have the largest total spread over the first 3 weeks of a season.

Hey Rob - no worries.

Wow, the Patriots have another huge spread? Last week's spread over Miami raised some eyebrows (was it 18 or so?) but 22.5 is ridiculous. I think they'll make it though.

Sorry, I can’t drink the Kool Aid. I’m thinking of checking out of the NFL Hype this year as I have tried to do with the MLB this year - but both are like trying to look away from a train wreck. Personally, I think fantasy football and now legalized gambling have ruined how we consume sports and prioritize them within our lives. I certainly can’t relate with how these athletes live their lives. As much as they like to complain about what’s due to them they seem to be as corrupt as those they’re fighting against.

And to think the NFL owners have some big gambling sites on the net(How did that ever happen?)

ya know what, I'm with...

the slope for me gets steeper all the time.

I used to like to watch a few games on Sunday, now, nope. I'll watch the local team (for me it's NE) but then I'm out.

and with some of the recent shenanigans going on in Foxboro, that's getting a little thin too. Call me a prude but I lost a lot of my respect for Kraft after his involvement with "massage" parlors.. In general, I think this guy is slowly turning into a complete fool, not sure he even knows where he is half the time..

Then they sign Antonio Brown, who is basically a walking hurricane..

I wish them all a healthy successful season as it could be TB's last, but the shine is all but gone on the whole shebang.

Typical NFL season. We all express disgust in September. But, when the cold weather comes, we're all fans again.

HA! ya know... you could be onto something! Seriously tho, seems to me that it's getting worse every year, not sure it is really worth the time. Like I said, my viewing habbits have changed quite a bit over the last few years.

that Farce "Deflate Gate" was probably the turning point for me.

Could you be checking out because your Steelers are 0-2 and lost Ben for the year?

I find that with the TV on MUTE to eliminate the "talking heads" and the remote to change quickly around the 3-4 channels, it's easy to watch the NFL games---don't really care about which bunch of mouthy, dancing millionaires are playing as long as they hold my interest!

The NFL minor leagues (The 10 or 15 Div 1 college teams with big football budgets) are probably the most entertaining! Anyway its a great time for some "football"!

Yup. I seriously doubt he will ever play in the NFL ever again. He makes Colin Kaepernik look like a saint.

I actually would not be surprised if he ended up in jail and/or bankrupt. FWIW I don’t believe he got his guaranteed money from the Raiders or the Patriots.
