Default My version of Little Martha...

This is an EXCELLENT guitar tune written by Duane Allman, copyright 1972 - I played this fine piece, which uses open E tuning, with a bit of a different arrangement than the original- I expanded the introduction and ending using harmonics while at the same time attempting to maintain the original flavor of the piece ... I used my 2001 Taylor 814ce for the recording . . . this song has been quite the enjoyable guitar learning experience for me . . . I hope you like my interpretation!

Let me know what you think . . .

Good to experiment and arrange to make somewhat your own. Not really recognizable as "Little Martha" however IMO.

Thanks for taking the courtesy to reply. I appreciate it - are there other players with thoughts to share out there?

Hey Russ,

Thanks for sharing - that was fun. One of my all time favorite tunes - if you haven’t already, you should also check out Leo Kottke’s version as he’s one of the only other people brave enough to take this on solo!

Interesting take on the arrangement, was fun to track against what is burned in my mind from hearing that all these years!

Cheers,

-Dave

Hey SuperD.
Thanks for the feedback! Here’s my ROUGH “Leo version of Little Martha” from 9 years ago. My YouTube video collection, in my semi-musical mind, shows MUCH progress, but my infinite guitar journey will definitely need to continue .... Happy playin’, you all!
