Default Martin 00-18V or Martin 000-18GE

I’m looking for a Martin 00-18V or a Martin 000-18GE or Mint or pristine condition. No nicks, dings, scratches or cracks!

Thanks for looking......

FYI, I just saw a 000-18 GE go up on the UMGF Buy and Sell.

I have both guitars and they are keepers.

nothing against the 000-18GE, I owned one and it was a great guitar. I also own a 00-18v. The top has turned darker over the years. I am getting ready to have it re-fretted for the first time. I have owned it for about 10 years I guess. Played a million gigs with it. There is no adi top, no bling, just smooth sitka over mahogany. I no longer have the GE. If you are looking for a guitar 00 size, the 000 won't do. I will never sell my 0018v. Just the best guitar to hold and play, and the sweetest most balanced sound. It has gotten better over the years.

YOu say you don't want a guitar with any marks...get a new one. I would take a 10-15-year-old with a couple of scratches any day. They just get better with age. YMMV

Mark,

I agree with you 100 percent on the Martin 00-18V. It’s like pulling teeth to find a good one. I’m like you I don’t care for the newer Martin 00-18 that they are making now!

I get why you want them.. either one.
I’ve had both, and both were great.

The 18V went to a very talented young woman who could outplay me handily, and she fell in love with it, so I let it go with her.
She has thanked me many times... and so has the guitar.
Oh my that girl could play!

My 18GE was my #1 for many years, and was among the last to go.
It too went to a much more accomplished player than I.. one who could bring out the best of its many superb attributes.

Good luck in your search.
I’ll keep an ear out for you.

Woodbox,

Thanks I appreciate that very much looking out for this old guy. My first choice is the Martin 00-18V. I had one in Mint condition and got stupid and sold it and I regret it to this day! So I’m hoping another one will show up down the road here soon. My second choice is the Martin 000-18GE which is another good guitar. I don’t know why Martin stopped making both of those models.

Not completely out of orbit. But somewhere around $2500 seems more reasonable as of a couple of weeks ago. Covid inflation; patience will flatten the curve eventually.

Maury's Music is showing one for $2699 on Reverb. More like, but probably won't stay around long.
