Default Doug Young Christmas Book

Just a plug or Doug Young's excellent Christmas book in DADGAD. For those of you wanting to learn some pleasing and challenging fingerstyle pieces for the holidays, this is a great purchase!

I just dug out my copy the other day. I've had it since it first came out, but I've never really delved into it.

This year, I've discovered that playing guitar is great therapy, post carpal tunnel surgery, so I intend to spend some serious time with it.

Same here. I’ve had it for several years and pull it out every Christmas. It’s a wonderful book, as is the accompanying album.

+1, when I told myself a couple of weeks ago I should get a couple of Christmas songs going, Doug’s Christmas songbook was the first I reached for. Great material to work with.

Great book. I think I'll open it up this weekend.

I had his standard tuning one which is decent but relatively simple (which is the stated intent - I'm not complaining) . Just got the DADGAD one off the back of this recommendation and I'm delighted with the mix. Great song choices, lovely arrangements, and a good spread of difficulty for whatever the mood. Thanks!

I couldn't agree more.

I got it this time last year, and found it all beyond me.

I pulled it out again in September, hoping to get something more going on and have been happily surprised to get through decent versions of Oh Holy Night and the more intricate take on Angels We have Heard on aHigh. Granted two of the more accessible tabs but I'm very happy to be able to wheel them out in a couple of gigs/sessions I have lined up this month.

Hi everyone, glad you're enjoying the book If anyone has questions or needs any help, don't hesitate to reach out. The book’s available in printed paperback or Kindle ( which i dont recommend for music, personally) from amazon, or as a pdf from my website.
