Martin SP000-16T 1997 value

I’m new here so apologies if this is the wrong forum for this. (If so, kindly advise.) I‘m looking for an objective idea of what trade-in might be for my guitar, in very good/excellent condition, before taking it in. Thanks and/or sorry If Im in the wrong place!

Your best bet is to go on Reverb and look for completed sales data, followed by completed sales on eBay. My guess is somewhere in the $700-900 range for private sale. Trade-in value is about half of that, as the dealer needs to make a profit on it. My 000-16 in excellent condition from 1993 (no electronics) sold at consignment for about $800 five years ago, if that helps. The store took 20%.

Those are sweet guitars and I would give strong consideration to keeping. Martin put a few extras into those that made them both tonally and visually pleasing to the eye. I almost bought one last year. It was mint except for one major flaw - it needed a neck reset. He was asking $900. I offered $600 and he said no.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m reluctant to sell because it really is a sweet guitar. But it’s not an easy guitar for me to play. Maybe I should lower the action?? It sounds really nice when a more accomplished musician plays it but me, not so much. I’m a super petite woman with hands like Lisa Simpson. I know 000 are considered small, but it’s like a dreadnought in my hands.
As for value, there are many 000s out there, but I can’t find any SP000-16s for reference.

That's a very nice guitar. You'd be crazy to let it go.

Take it to someone who's qualified and have it set up for you. It will play like a dream.
