Default What Sports Stadiums/Areas have you been to?

Trying to keep sports alive during this time. A different take on a previous thread ... What Sports Stadiums/Areas have you been to for sporting events? Guessing for many people you'll post a list and then later you'll recall "oh, I've also been there'.

Did you go because one of your favorite teams was playing or for another reason?

I have been to both the old and new Boston Garden (Bruins and Celtics),
both the old Foxboro Stadium and the new Gillette Stadium (Patriots), and the oldest baseball park in the country, Fenway Park (Red Sox).

The most iconic had to be the original Yankee Stadium, back when the monuments were still in deep center field.

Michie stadium is beautiful! Dad took me to see Army vs. Bob Devaney's Nebraska team in 1971. Late field goal for Army made it 77-3.

Great place, indeed. And a beautiful part of the state. We'd always go to the parade grounds to watch the cadets march from there to the stadium - we did this every game, as my dad was a vet. I brought a pin from the opposing team every game I went to, and put it on my Army hat. Fantastic memories - and, we got to see some fo the greatest players from around the country trounce Army! Many Heisman winners ran wild at Michie, against our over-matched Cadets! (I ended up witnessing much of the same destruction, as a fan of Kansas football, when I went there! Brutal beatings!!)

I’m a pretty big sports fan but unfortunately, I haven’t been to very many iconic venues. I’ve been to see the Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Expos back in the day, but both of those stadia are not proper baseball venues, imo. I’ve been to the Giants park in San Fran...now that’s a baseball stadium. I’ve been to spring training at “Little Fenway” in Fort Myers a number of times to watch the Red Sox. I never made it to the old Maple Leafs Gardens or Forum in Montreal.

I think the first one was Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, maybe in '76? So hot. So incredibly hot. So...

Riverfront Stadium, Cincinnati, OH (Reds)
Oakland Coliseum (Raiders)
Oracle Arena (Warriors)
Candlestick Park (49'ers, Giants)
Pac Bell Park (Giants)
Old Stanford Stadium (Cardinal)
New Stanford Stadium (Cardinal)
Memorial Stadium (Cal Bears)
LA Coliseum (Raiders)
Redwood Bowl (Humboldt State Lumberjacks)
The Kingdome (Seahawks...well, Raiders)
Key Arena (Supersonics, Thunderbirds)
Safeco Field (Mariners)
Rogers Arena (Canucks)

I think that's it. Good memories!

When I sat down to consider this question I realized I hadn't been to many venues at all. But they were all great ones, except for one:
- Old Montreal Forum
- Old Boston Garden
- Fenway Park
- Atlanta-Fulton County stadium (caught a game there between the Braves and Pirates).
- Gillette Stadium in Foxborough (nice)
- Old Foxboro Stadium (awful).
That's it.
I had an opportunity on a business trip once to see the Cubs play at Wrigley field, but we had to come back early and it never happened. I was looking forward to that. Love the old parks.

Hey Tom, I saw a game in Montreal back in '89. It was the game where Dave Dravecky was pitching for the Giants and he broke his arm while throwing a pitch!

I also saw MLB games in Toronto (SkyDome), Boston, Detroit (old Tiger Stadium), NYC (Shea), and Cincinnati (Riverfront).

I'm not a big "go to the arena" kind of guy, and would rather watch on TV. So my limited list is:

Oakland Coliseum (XFL Invaders)
Lambeau Field (Packers game, from the sidelines as a photographer)
Candlestick Park (Giants, never could get 49's tickets, Joe Montana era)
Briggs Field (the old Tiger Stadium)
Joe Louis Arena (hockey tournament)
Michigan Speedway (NASCAR)
Michigan Stadium Ann Arbor (Ohio State game and others)
