Been playing mine for several days now, it is such a hoot. Seems to me the biggest difference from guitar is no sustain so you have to keep the picking going. See why the needed to develop those rolls. Works very nicely with Here Comes The Sun capoed high. Lots of cool possibilies.

You know what else sounds cool on guitar-banjos is surf music and anything by Henry Mancini - try "The Theme From Peter Gunn," "Baby Elephant Walk" or "The Pink Panther Theme" on it some time.

Naturally, "Wipeout" and "Pipeline" sound very cool on it, as well.

I'd love to hear these played this way - sounds cool. Do you have any recordings you could share?

What do they say....

"This post is worthless without clips!" (or something like that )

Sorry, no clips. I'm someone who is very wary of recording. I get into it when I do record, but I'm such a perfectionist that I can't just casually stick a microphone in front of an instrument and play.

That's one of my quirks, I suppose. I wish I could be easy-going about it, but I'm not.

Playing my deering for all of two weeks but this is the most fun I have had with a instrument since I was a teenager! That was quite a awhile ago. Deering makes a very good instrument which I am sure is part of it. Fingers better than most of my guitars. Beautifully set up, really top quality.

I haven't been playing mine much yet - it's the busy season. Although I did do one gig and my lead guitarist used it and it was so much fun and was a great addition to our palette!
