Quick update so redoing the screen recording , starting with a blank session and going thru creating the audio, aux ,tracks plus busses and send was straight forward BUT trying to get PT audio into the Quicktime screen recording has presented some issues.

It appears that I had to download a 3 rd party app (looks like currently there are two free choices)
There is either SoundFlower or Blackhole (both of which are free) but
unfortunately both seem to be some kind of open source with only marginal support ....

I downloaded both and ran into some difficulty with both.

Soundflower is more complex you have to set up both a multi aggregate for input and a multi output device and I keep gettin digital noise when trying to play the audio from Pro tools

BlackHole is simpler with just a Multi out put to set up But the PT sound is distorted .. ?????

I wonder any on AGF with experience in getting DAW sound in to Quicktime screen recording has a better solution ? I know there is a paid App but wonder if it is easier and or has better sound ?

OK got BlackHole working not distorted but still don't care for the quality of sound and for some reason even though BlackHole is supposed to be 16 channel It only shows in PT I/O as 2 channel and thus I cannot use my outboard hardware FX so I had to use some plugins instead ....oh these first world problems.

I was using the iMac mike for my voiceover I may switch to going thru the Carbon instead and see if that helps

If you think it needs further tweaks or format change to be more clear , or organized ,,,, I am completely open to suggestions There are a couple of stumbles in the dialog which could be smother but this is just a possible format outline if you will ....

thanks for the tutorial

I've always struggled to get quicktime to do what I want, don't recall specifics, other than lots of head banging into the wall...

What I've used the last few times I've done something like this is OBS (free) to record screen and audio, paired with Loopback (not free, unfortunately), which makes it easy to route pretty much any audio, so I can simply tell it to take the output of my interface and route it to OBS. I resisted buying Loopback for quite a while, sort of feeling like adding a "hijack audio" thing was likely to cause issues, but it hasn't and it's pretty handy when doing this sort of thing.

Hey thanks I may end up having to try that. Are you using loop back and OBS or instead of OBS
To clarify I actually have tried Blackhole 16 chan , and Soundflower 2chan by themselves which sort of works, but I am thinking because of have to also have the iMac speakers (2 channel) selected in the the multi output device aggregate and have the multi device selected in the Pro tools "Playback Engine " also ,,,, I keep ending up with only 2 channels in the PT I/O --output section which means I cant add an audio mic channel for voiceover and I can't use my hardware FX because in PT they are accessed from the I/O section of the inserts tab not the plugins
I have down loaded OBS and tried it via Blackhole but have the same issue . I am thinking it is something in the routing or in the set up of the multi output device I am missing or not doing correctly.

And so far I have not found a YouTube video with specifically Pro Tools, Quicktime , Mac "screen recording" and and an Interface and any of those three multi out put apps. The quest goes on
