I'm envisioning the video list as a jumping in point for those new to recording ...just a collection of informative videos to help someone understand the basics. Once someone gets past the basic stage, they're probably better off discussing things in the forum because solutions can go in many directions at that point. I've been going back and forth over some room treatment videos I've found from GIK because they're selling a product. The information is sound and, I think, very well presented. so I'm leaning towards including a statement to indicate I'm not pushing anyone towards the company rather than omit the videos ...unless I find some better alternatives. I estimate I've spent at least 20 hours this week watching videos. My eyes are starting to spin but I think I've found some diamonds among the jetsam.

I don't have a video, but I've always thought my before-after comparison of my recording space should be somewhat convincing: My bare room before treatment, one TLM103 18 inches away: http://www.dougyoungguitar.com/mp3/1..._bare_room.mp3 After most treatment, one TLM103 18 inches away: http://www.dougyoungguitar.com/mp3/F...3_18inches.mp3 After a few final panels were added, and more realistic micing, KM184s in ORTF 8 inches from the guitar: http://www.dougyoungguitar.com/mp3/8..._realtraps.mp3 All from the same spot in the room.

Ethan Winer's 'Room Treatment' Bible
Aloha Jim,
I always recommend Ethan Winer's 'Room Treamemt' Bible RE: Treatment info. So I agree with Doug that you should consider it for a 'stickie.' IT is comprehensive & that's putting it mildly. https://ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html Thank you for your yeoman's efforts putting this together, Jim. But Fran's 'Building a Broadband Absorber really takes the cake. IT's a must for DIY Treatment. http://www.homebrewedmusic.com/2009/...-on-the-cheap/ Mahalo a nui! alohachris |

I Agree Jim
Aloha Jim,
I agree. Owsinski's 'treatment' video (which I found to be boring) may be more appropriate for the 'newbie' orientation of the current 'Record' site. Your comment actually supports what I've been saying for quite awhile here: that there oughta be a separate "Pro Record' site created so the newbies don't predominate conversations among 'pro player/recordists.' We do have many here in that category. Just a thought to relay. Mahalo, alohachris |

A new section with recommended tutorial videos has been added to the Masterlist. It can be found at the bottom of post #2 in the stickie thread.
Thank you to the members who helped build the list!

Have you had a chance to use your Demeter yet? I'm curious to know if it makes your ears as happy as it always makes mine.

Either way fine with me. Just happened to come across it. Actually liked his printed website info better than the video.
If I find any reverb video discussion on the internet that I like and that is more specifically related to guitar I will provide a link to that.
