HX Stomp Questions
Hi all,
I love my MXR analog effects but really have enjoyed setting up good effects patches with my Stomp. It is great to be able to add eq, preamps, etc for different songs. I am looking to power the Stomp and have done a bit of research on different power banks. I have a larger power station but it is way too big to fit on a small pedalboard. I don't want a source that requires AC, looking to go fully battery powered. It appears to me that the spec'd requirements are 9V/3amps. In practice though, most people have measured the Stomp to only require 1-1.2 amps. I contacted the Line6 customer service and for non AC power they recommended the Mission Engineering 529HC and a separate lithium battery, one that puts out 9V/2amps. (Check out the Mission Engineering website, "power" section) There are power banks such as the XTPower MP 10000 on Amazon, used to power small appliances in the outdoors, charge laptops and phones, etc. My question is - wouldn't one of those alone work to power the Stomp? They put out 2amps at 9Volts. I contacted them and they indicated the MP 10000 would work. Has anyone had any experience with any such power banks? Also, looking to add the Mission Helix SP1-L6 exp/volume pedal that is recommended by Line6. Does anyone have any experience with this Pedal? Thanks in advance, Davidc |

cant help with the battery powered module. But i have and use the l6 volume pedal you talk about. The cool thing i like about it is you can assign multiple parameters to the motion. For instance i found when i increased volume I also increased the treble a bit. So i assigned also the eq treble to decrease a bit as the vol increases. You could also decrease compression when you do leads. They possibilities are only limited to your imagination.

Thanks V,
I will let you know how I do with the battery situation. I intend to pick up the mission helix pedal soon too. |

Yes I saw that. Now they endorse the Mission Engineering options I described as well.
It definitely runs without any problems off my power bank which has a DC rating of 9-12V and 10 amps. It is just a bulky piece of gear to carry. I use the line6 adapter for the 2.5mm input on the Stomp. Will keep you posted. Davidc |

Any stomp users out there-
I have been researching a rechargeable battery source. There are several new ones on the market. I settled for an XT Power M 10000. It puts out 9V/2amps on its DC output. It will power the stomp. Check it out on Amazon- very affordable. Also, sweet foot pedals has a very nice power block. It needs AC power but is custom made for the HX Stomp. Mission Engineering now has a unit - the 529 HC (high current) that serves as a power block with isolated outputs but also can be powered by a USB rechargeable lithium battery. This unit is pretty impressive in that it has great protection for your Stomp. It is also recommended specifically by Line6. Davidc |
