Default El McMeen YouTube Presentation on CGDGAD Tuning

On the Saturday before Easter, a pretty crummy day weather-wise, I set up my iPad (idle for over 9 months), and recorded a 47-minute presentation on CGAD guitar tuning - CGDGAD. That tuning changed my life, and I make a heartfelt sales-pitch for people to try it out. The video is here:

The first song I ever heard in CGDGAD tuning was this:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1H8gFb...&index=6&t=0s4

It was so lovely I learned the song. I look forward to listening to El’s discussion in full and learning more about this tuning.

It certainly has my interest. I sent the thread link to a couple of email friends too. El McMeen comes across as a very intelligent and thoughtful person, giving a very good sense of why he chose this tuning and how it benefits his playing. I appreciate the fact that he didn't spend time on how to get into the tuning, but did spend time on his concerns starting with it and how he developed it for his own use. Very well done! Thanks El.

El - I remember you as one of the mainstays of rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic - RMMGA - back in the usenet days, along with Larry Pattis, Wade Hampton Miller and several others who hang out here (some under pseudonyms )

I, for one, am delighted to see you active and participating here. Now I have to take a crack at CGDGAD

One of my newly favorite tunings. I don't really "know it" yet, but I can bump around in the dark and still make nice sounds
