Default First Setup Results

Just got my Martin back from the luthier for its first setup. I waited for a while because I loved it and figured it was Plek’d so it had to be fine. Boy was I wrong!! This thing is playing like never before! I’m kicking myself for not getting it done sooner.

A well done setup can make it seem like you got a new guitar. Enjoy your Martin!

I agree with Dru. A good setup is so important to how a guitar plays and sounds. Good luck.

I guess I’m just surprised because I didn’t realize how far from optimal the plek process left my guitar. It played good, but now it plays great

Everybody's ideal set-up is not the same. Martin (and other builders) get you in the ball park. Enjoy!

That makes absolute sense. I guess I just wanted to create a thread for newer forum members that may be questioning the validity of getting a setup done. It definitely makes a difference for the better (assuming it’s a skilled luthier/tech)

Default I was debating taking my new guitar in

Thanks for this topic, made an appointment to take my new Eastman E10-OM into a luthier after reading this thread. Seems to play a little tight right now.
