Default Anybody seen Forster archtops?

Fascinating design. I wonder how he does the neck joint.

Pretty freakin' cool! I suppose the neck joint is not too different from a Fender, though the neck interface with the "bridge" area is pretty cool. I suppose the soundboard is very thin...

It seems like the neck join has to be made not just to secure the neck, but also put downward pressure on the soundboard!

I'm not so sure about that... I think it's more having the vibrations of the strings and neck "telegraphed" to the soundboard, in the way we used to make rudimentary phonograph players by sticking a pin into a paper cup and placing it on the groove of a spinning record. A very small needle movement creating a proportionately large amplification....

At least, that's the way I see it. I actually used to do something similar, resting the lower bout of my electric guitar onto the bridge of an acoustic. I was actually surprised how much volume I got.

I stumbled on the attached thread that was started a little while back. I hope PB+J chimes in at some point. The similar guitar he made sounds awesome.
