Default Maple OM back and sides thickness?

I am just about to start my next build - a maple/sitka OM. I am planning thicknessing the back and sides. I would normally go to about 1.8mm for a harder wood, but what I can find in my reading says that Maple may be better a little thicker. I use a fox bender so bending is less of an issue with thicker sides. Any advice/experience appreciated.

Well, maple is less stiff than rosewood for example, so you should aim to make the maple feel as stiff as your rosewood sides do when flexed. 1.8mm is pretty thin, you probably can go 2.5-2.2mm and thin a little from there, though in my experience maple bends fairly easily.

2.1/2.2mm would be as thin as I would go with maple
