the sight of the rosette filled me with glee. Whoda thunk it from a left over shelf, From a wood most people burn to warm themselves.

The guitar and rosette truly are fine
But the accompanying poems are simply devine. They've really put a smile on my face, This forum is a remarkable place.

A fine guitar this will certainly be
Crafted down in Texas in the land of the free Steve and Ryan picked out their primo woods I'd commission one myself if only I could! So I'll sit at my computer and watch from afar Curious to see if it'll have the Lone Star Emblazoned on the headstock or the 12th fret But it will be amazing of that you can bet!

See what I did there, cuz he is my pal. To Mr. Nemo I say with a smirk, You must be clairvoyant as you lurk. First the rosette you picked it correct, And now a Lone Star...seems a good bet.

Made a quick little trip today
To see progress, but not to stay. Things are looking great And the rosette is sure to ingratiate! The back and sides look good, The top was being glued. Steve was carving on a neck And Ryan was sanding again, ahh heck!

tx mesquite guitar 25.jpg tx mesquite guitar 26.jpg tx mesquite guitar 27.jpg More work has been done to this lovely guitar, More progress is poured from the Kinnaird magic jar. Linings and rims being glued to the sides, The rim is sanded to make the fit fine. The important top braces are planed and refined, this is the Kinnaird secret to music devine. To top it all off the back meets the frame, It is glued to the linings and forever will stay.

Tom, you wanted a bit more of the story, here ‘tis:
The kid inside the sail store Had looked until his eyes were sore, For just a bit of Sitka Spruce, Though not for masts (its coastal use). “I want to build guitars, you see, And only need two feet—or three— Or maybe four—of that big board, That leaves you still a lot to hoard.” “So can you spare that small a sale? Though not a mast to hold a sail, That little piece will be, someday, The noblest sale you make today.” “In fifty years—just wait, you’ll see— I’ll have some friends who ask of me To build a Texas-themed guitar And this small piece will be the star.” Or some such tale was spun until The owner must have had his fill. “If that four feet is all you need, Just take it kid”, I heard him plead. |

Sometimes I'm just not right in the head But my, oh my! What a wonderful build! Can't wait to see it all revealed! Though Oklahoma is where I currently live For this one Texas treasure a "well done" I would give I love the idea, the craftmanship, all of the woods In the end it will no doubt deliver the goods Seriously impressed all the way around Well done to all! Can't wait for the sound To come blossoming out of the soundhole in spades Enjoy every note, Tom, for all of your days!
