Default NGD! Go Guitar!

Actually, it wasn't today but the newness hasn't worn off yet!

What a cool box! I'm really having fun playing this thing. It's perfect for a couch guitar while watching TV. Haven't traveled with it but I bet that's gonna be easy given the small size. Plays great, sounds really good - surprising for the size and low cost. Do I sound like a commercial?

The one I ordered is a Go Grande, walnut sides and back, spruce top, 1 3/4 nut. Got the gig bag with it. Totally blows out of the water every other travel guitar I've played.

I posted a video on you tube:

Also planning to do a podcast with Sam Radding the builder, summer of 2013 on prettygoodgig.com

Hi Bill...

Really nice post and great YouTube addition. Sounds like a nice guitar.

I'm kind of sorry I sold my Go Guitar. I had serial number 007, the last prototype made before they started standard production. Until the Taylor GS Mini, I really haven't gotten excited over a travel guitar since. It's not that the sound was so great, though the Grande is MUCH better, but the utility of the Go was superior to any travel guitar with a usual guitar shape.

That's a really nice demo of a cool instrument, Bill.

I just took another look at the Go Guitars website - I'd been tempted some years ago, and looking at his prices, I'm tempted all over again.

Congratulations, Bill, on your new couch guitar. I gave serious consideration to their mahogany version a while back and even called and talked with the guy about it. My guess is that I'll probably end up with one of those one day, but I'll let my travel guitar serve me a little longer. Thanks for posting the demo... I'm really glad to hear one.

Hey, thanks everybody! Kinda chopped my head of in the vid, but figured nobody'd miss anything! :-) Sam and I emailed back and forth and at first I had planned on going with mahogany, but he suggested walnut for the styles I do. Said it was warmer so, 20 something bucks - I said what the heck. The Go kinda reminds me of my Honda Element in its odd look, like-ability, economy and just plain usefulness!

CongratulationsI I have a Go Parlor that is also a nice traveler. Sam's a great guy and makes a quality guitar at a fair price.

So what are the "problems" you speak of at the end of the video?

Anyway, I had one just like the one reviewed. For the price, it does what it's supposed to do very well.

The Zoom Q3HD started acting up. 3rd time using it and it powered down after a couple seconds. Put new batteries in it and got a low reading. Later on it started working again but got pretty hot after about 20 minutes. This is my second one as my first was lost or stolen - never had a problem with that one except on batteries it shut down every ten minutes. The newer one is under warranty so we'll see. The other problem with these recorders is the camera and microphones are always in the same place and for best results you'd really want the camera back a bit but the mics close up. They'll do in a pinch though.

That little guitar sounds good! Especially when fingerpicked. Thanks for the demo.

Nice, Thats a very wonderful sounding box , looks like it must be played softly . does it do well strummed a bit hard?

This one has the best sound of small guitars I've heard , nice ring.

Thanks guys. I think it's very versatile. I also think it is built to get the absolute most from the design. You can't strum it as hard as a Gibson but it'll take quite a bit. Even my Taylor has a breaking up point if you strum hard enough. The extra practice time I'm getting is really something. It's right next to my chair right ow!
