I use Imgur, upload my pics there first and then copy a share link from my posted image on Imgur, and then on this site, click on the yellow icon that looks like a square with mountains, and paste the link there (you have to delete the http:// that’s already in the box).
This site is pretty anti-progress. We don’t even have a like button

You cannot upload a picture from your computer. You MUST use an image host (imgur, postimages, etc.). Upload from your computer to their (free) server and then use the link they provide. Post that link between the two IMG /IMG tags you can get from the Advanced page.

If you are a charter member you can upload pictures from your computer to your posts.

I finally broke down and read this thread to find out what on earth a post on a guitar forum about "inserting a pick" could possibly be about.

Wow that sounds like a battle and half to achieve. When the great Nanci Griffith was alive and had her blue moon image Nanci Griffith Fan Club it was just a few quick steps to insert a image from Pictures in windows by copy and paste of the ural. Seems like nothing can be simple any more. Never ever saw her play a few Guilds untill she went under exclusive contract with Taylor.

Support the forum and post pics easily directly from your computer by becoming a charter member, no third party needed. One of the perks along with more PM space and love.

One thing to be aware of with the attachment method for charter members, is that it limits the size of the image. For the AGF, I suppose that's useful for keeping server costs down.
As a consumer of guitar photos in classified ads, I find them way too small to be useful for inspecting the guitar. I much prefer someone use higher-resolution images with the linking method I describe above. For those wishing others not to grab high-res versions of their proprietary images, I guess it's a benefit. But that can be controlled by posting lower res images and linking to them as well. |

I use imgbb.com, and when the image is uploaded, I call it up and use my right mouse button to retrieve the actual image url (e.g. "show image" command in Firefox). I copy this url from the browser's address bar and paste it into the forum's "insert image" prompt.
Hope this makes sense and helps.
