Hi Chip, besides just loving the look of this G&L, it is the most comfortable electric guitar I’ve owned. The way the body is contoured against my ribs and under my picking arm is just perfect for me. The neck also feels like it was made for my hand.

The other difference between it and a nice Fender strat I owned is the tonal palette. With the Fender I would just dime the tone controls, but with this one I can get a lot of different tonal colors just using the tone knobs.

I really liked my Fender Strat and Tele, but this G&L has everything I want in looks, comfort and tone...I’m done shopping...honest. I’ve had it for 3 years now and haven’t even had an urge to look.

I found quite a few amazing scores on Gibson SG's over the years.

At one time I owned about 4,but they're ALL gone now.

I REALLY tried to get along with them, but I finally realized I'm just not an SG guy.

Sometimes you just have to accept that you just can't get along with every guitar.
Hey Tex, you are correct that there are some guitars we just don't get along with. I feel that way with Strats most times, even though I have 2 Americans and 1 Mexi. But when I want to hear that neck pickup SRV tone nothing else will replicate. I'd like to get a 24 3/4" conversion neck for a Strat to try that out.

I bet that'd be the ticket for you Dru.

If you like Gibson scale guitars, then the 24 3/4" neck would most likely to the trick for you.

Tom Anderson makes a Cobra shorty with a 24 3/4 neck.

I'm guessing to make the Gibson people feel at home.

Very nice Japanese Strat you have there. Those are quite sought after because they were so well made.

Thanks. I don't feel too bad about changing everything after I got it used with a Warmouth neck that was just... rubbery. So there was never an option to leave it bone stock. After awhile, adding more mods becomes a bit of an addiction.

Trust me. Look at my Squier and Kramer above. Both were free unplayable guitars, and now they’re $50 guitars with $400 on parts. [emoji23]

That's my '83 ES-335 Dot with stock Tim Shaw humbuckers.

It's an AMAZING sounding guitar.

It's one of the top 5 electric guitars in my collection.
Wow. That says a lot. I picked a good one.

I got an AMAZING deal on my '83 Dot, but if I EVER found another all original early 80's Dot in good condition, I'd probably pay decent money for one.

I painted my pickguard, setup the pickup height, and put on a new strap. It now feels like a completely new guitar.

Pickup height can make a huge difference on a single coil guitar. Looking nice!

That is one sweet looking PRS SE! Did you buy it because you're a fan of Zach or a fan of that guitar? I'm guessing there are a lot of people who bought that guitar not knowing who Zach is. That's a compliment to PRS.
