Default Two of Us. Learning the changes.

We decided to add this to our setlist and what I thought would be easy has become a real adventure. I've looked at a few on line tutorials but none seems to work for me. Even my old play along pal Marty Schwartz does not seem to have what I'm looking for. Especially difficult for me is the section "We're On Our Way Home...We're Going Home" I know the chords (G,D,C) but the rhythm seems odd. Can someone point me in the right direction for the rhythm on this otherwise fun song.

Just googled (DuckDuckGoed?) "two of us score beatles" and one score gave this:

measures 3/4: We're on our way (starting on off beat)
measure 3/4: Home (on beat one)
measure 2/4: We're going (starting on off beat)
measure 4/4: Home (on beat one)

The measure lengths in the verse+chorus were: 4 4 2 4 4 4 4 2 4 4 3 3 3 3 3 2 4 4 4 4 4 :||

Seemed to work when counting along with the music.

Yes, it's a weird mixed metre. If you organise it via the chord changes (which seems simplest), it works as follows:

If you want to keep counting it in 4, the chords would change in odd places, and you'd still need an extra beat:

There's no "correct" here, aside from the number of beats altogether - 17 (which he obviously gets right). From the way they played it (going by the chord changes and guitar lines), I'd guess they counted it as 3+3+3+3+3+2, as in my first example.
But 4+2+4+2+3+2 (as he's doing it) also makes sense and feels OK rhythmically, even if the D landing on beats 4 and 1 feels odd. It works like this:

As the video says there is a lot going on in this song. Headphones help too.
