Absolute stunners. Really love your build choices. What are the specs on the X30 regarding the finish and pickup selection?

Thank you!

The X30 is Padauk. I had an LR Baggs Anthem installed, but didn't care for it's lack of tuner and lack of EQ adjustability. So I just a few months ago installed an Anthem Stage Pro. Much more what I was looking for!

Those are both beautiful. The Virtuo, which I assume is quilted maple, looks 3D.

It is black quilted maple. I am amazed at how the depth and clarity of the woodgrain pops. Emerald wood grain veneers are very dark, and I wasn't sure if it would just be a featureless mass. Nope.
Probably because it's actually dyed instead of painted over

The quilted maple Virtuo is stunning. I had a black quilted maple Ibanez RG3EX1 back in my electric days (not quite the gorgeous depth of that Emerald though).

So either you have good taste or I do.

Gorgeous. The ones Iíve seen in that finish have been stripped. That one has striking colors, like a lava waterfall. Very cool. Iíll bet it sounds amazing as well. Did Emerald prep the guitar for the Stage Pro or did you install it yourself?

They installed the LR Baggs Anthem, but after having it about a year I wasn't too sure I liked it. So, I personally did the install for the Anthem StagePro. Of course their wiring was already there, so that sped it up a bit. Really not a difficult system to install.

Thanks for the explanation and photos. I was planning on having Emerald mod my build for install of the Anthem, but after your posts Iím going to look at the Stage Pro.

Yes, I'm VERY pleased. The string-to-string intonation is spot on and it plays effortlessly, plus it is a spectacularly beautiful instrument.

I installed a LR Baggs Anthem SL, which sounds very good plugged in. I played around blending the microphone with the under saddle pickup, ended up roughly 60/40 microphone. It proved a quick and easy install as the sound hole is larger than on a wooden guitar, making it easier to position everything. I did take my time slowly sanding down the saddle to compensate for the addition of the under saddle pickup, but that would be the case with a wooden guitar also.

The only thing left to work on is finding the right strings. I swapped out whatever strings came on the guitar with a fresh set of D'Addario EXP 16s (light, phosphor bronze), and while new strings did help, the sound was still a bit mellow for my taste (the lower notes seem to overpower the higher notes). I'll try a set of D'Addario EXTs (80/20) next to see if that brightens things up a bit.
