I'm only scrtatching the surface of pentatonic stuff in my own musical journey, but my very limited understanding ( and perhaps incorrect ) is that many folk melodies and hymns ( like Amazing Grace ) have only the notes from the major pentatonic scale.

yeah i have been practiced scales..and wanted to know if there are some cool phrase using pentatonic scales.. Amazing grace sound great~~~..i will be on that one...thanks.~

It's a pattern most suited for practicing scales, but I commonly employ a sideslip when playing pentatonics, raising or lowering the phrase a half step and then resolving, for tension-release, such as this with a C pentatonic:
