Sometimes, when irked, I've had some choice names for a guitar or two. Not repeatable in public forum.

The Martin is named Guita. I haven't named the X20 yet. Guita is feeling neglected these days.

I did name one of my X-10s “The Other X-10”... wait I may have named all the X-10s that as well.

Tried it just now, but my guitars still don't listen when I call them.

They don't listen when you cuss them out for their mistakes, either.

Only one of my guitars has a name, the one in my signature.
A girl I dated in high school told me "Willie's guitar has a name, yours should too! Let's call him Klyde". She got a label maker out, made a label, and stuck it on the pickguard. It's still there more than 50 years later.

At that time, Trigger was a new guitar and in slightly better shape than Klyde.

Most of my guitars do have names. One of them, an Alvarez model 5059 that I bought new in the late 70's, made every patrol with me when I was in the Navy. I was on nuclear submarines and named that guitar "Captain Nemo" because it has traveled way more than 20,000 leagues under the sea!

Nope.
I'm a poetic, emotional guy...just not to that degree.
I know there's a tradition/history of naming guitars, but I'd just feel silly. I don't generally personify guitars, cars, etc.

nope. I describe them by model and manufacturer though. As in Martin 000-18, CEO7, Taylor GS maple, etc.

I don't name my guitars on purpose because it seems pathetic. But sometimes names just come and never leave. I have a favored dread that I call The Boss and an extremely sweet all hog OOO that I call Bambi. And then there's my little Collings, the "Yellow Rose of Texas." So far my 2 mandolins have no names. This is not something I share with just anybody.
