OK, I have to be honest here .. not so keen on that bridge. Not my guitar .. just my opinion, that's all.

I don't think the bridge is finished yet. There are still pencil marks on it.

Looking good to me so far Matthew. I can't wait to see the finished guitar.

I'd also like to see photos of your remodel.

To be clear- That is the first step of carving the bridge. Lots more to do. It will be shaped much like a pyramid bridge in the end. Those sharp corners and edges will all be gone.

I wanted to keep the slim width of the original but that was going to be tricky with the slanted saddle. Slanting the bridge instead was the work-around.

Aesthetically, I like where it's going... I like the gestural movement...

I will have to wait for the final shaping and unveiling of the whole guitar. With the head stock shape not being traditional, some artistic licence on Burton's part in redesigning a pyramid bridge could work well. With a highly stylized build like this, it is important to me to see the whole design. This I think will be a nice blend of old and new coming together (not dismissing your opinion, just giving a different take on this).

As with all of this guitar's features, the execution is flawless. One thing I must give Burton credit for is the fact he has no past work of his to draw upon as a reference. Really going "where no man has gone before", drawing from an old cliché.

Funky cool bridge for a funky cool guitar--I like it!

I think the guitar is whimsical, yet relevant, with an underlying revisionist's conceit that belies the guitar's attachment to the subject matter.

ROTFL. I resemble that remark. I'll attach your belie whether or you like it or not.

i hate photobucket and am tired of them holding me hostage. I'm going to download all my photos and reconstruct each of my build threads, consequences be darned.

I need to do the same thing too with my build thread. I second the hating of Photobucket. They allowed 3rd party hosting for free for years and now they charge $400 per year. Absolutely idiotic. If they would have charged me $50 per year, I would have paid it to keep all the linked photos in my posts working. The Photobucket site is a also slow and full of ads now. Based on my observations, I'm guessing they will shut down entirely in the not too distant future.

What do you think we should be using instead?

Just get your own website and host the photos there. Cheap and easy.
