If you were going to spend roughly $300 for an amp...
Is the loudbox mini a good choice? Given the limited selection at guitar center, it seems to sound the best in that price range. Is there anything else I should be considering?
Uses would be home practice and small venues. |

Roland Acoustic Chorus, or the Fender Acoustic 90 might be worthwhile to look at.

Save a few more bucks and look for a used Loudbox Artist which is a much better amp - better inputs and more power. Ignore trashed tolex on used ones as that is standard for all Loudbox models.

I did a few gigs with a fellow who played through a Loudbox Mini, and it was my first time hearing that little amplifier "on stage"... I was playing and singing through my AER Compact 60, and that Mini seemed to hang right in there, even at a decent volume in a fairly sizeable room.
It's a solid little amp with a very good company behind it...

I just received my Fishman Loudmouth Mini a week ago and I couldn't be happier. Keep in mind I only use it at home though.
The general consensus is its fine for small venues.

Another vote for the Fishman. I had the Mini, and traded it for the Mini Charge. It's just a great little acoustic amp!

another vote for the mini. I have the Artist, my band partner has the Mini. We just got back from playing an outdoor gig literally in the street. He ran the DI out of his mini into our Alto Troupers on stands, the mini sounded great to us for his guitar and vocals and we got lots of compliments on the sound. I too have had the benefit of Fishman's amazing customer service. I can't say enough about this great line of amps and this company.
