Do you know of the earliest version of Greensleeves? I have a feeling it was written with lute in mind, in Elizabethan times or before. But I've heard it, and one thing I remember: on 'greensleves' if it were sung a minor, not major 3rd was the note used. And the 'bridge', or whatever they called it then had a slight melody deviation. Thanks for sharing... |
