Default out of space

Hi guys,

Well the GAS continues (this time it's National reso GAS) but I'm essentially out of physical storage space if I do succumb. So the amp and associated gear that I never use will have to go, which I'm fine with. That will free up space for one more guitar case but that's it. I don't really want my gear spread out all over the house.

Anybody else's GAS curtailed by lack of space?

That's called good GL .... (Guitar Logic)

Like my wife suggesting 7 acoustic guitars would be a sensible limit - 'a different one for each day of the week'
I totally agreed with her.
So I have 10.

Yes.. I have a humidified closet that is currently at max capacity with 5 guitars. If I want to buy another guitar I will need to sell/move one beforehand.

Getting close... but not yet

It’s also coming to the point where maintenance does takes a lot of time, almost too much.

My aquariums reached to point where they were cut back for the same reasons..

I get ~125 sq ft (about 12 sq. meters then). This for the guitars, ukelele's, a music stand, and my music chair. I have recently, however, taken some liberties to "creep" a little. I now have 1 carbon fiber each in the kitchen and living room (each occupy 2 sq feet). So far so good. My wife enjoys my acoustic noodling so as long as I entertain her now and then, the creepage is ok.

But in the main area I have to stack at least 3 as there is not enough room to have them all upright. This makes for some awkward movements and noises as I like to rotate among them - but for now it's working out just fine.

We just had the basement finished! That has allowed me to take over the 12' X 12' former TV room/office but I prefer the store my guitars in the double door closet in that room. Way easier to control the humidity in the closet during our Canadian winters.

I had mine on individual stands which got a bit unwieldy. One year I got a Hercules stand that holds 5. That was a great space saver. Then I got a bass and a P90 Gibson I had been searching for for years, so now there's overflow. For a while, my older son was interested in learning guitar so one of my guitars stayed in his room as a "loaner". He needed the space so back into my area it went.

Management has put me on notice that of I get any more some will have to be sold. At the moment I have what I need so I'm not worried.
