Anyone know a good source for single Elixir strings?
I feel wasteful buying a whole set when I change the 6, 5 & 4 strings twice or three times more often than the rest.
Would appreciate hearing about a good (relatively economical) source for singles if anyone here knows. Thanks for looking. |

I've bought them from Strings and beyond. Just search "Elixir" followed by the gauge of the string you want. See what comes up.

Strings by Mail and Just Strings also sell singles. Not sure who is cheapest.

Just Strings does, too. Not sure if it'll be much cheaper than an entire new set.

Shipping costs make buying single strings cost prohibitive.

I tried to order some singles to create a set for my tenor guitar and they were all out of stock so hopefully you will have better luck

Unless someone pops up with a source we've not explored here, I'm afraid you're right about the shipping.

In reality, the two plain steel strings are almost no cost to make and are not a very big part of the total cost of a set of strings. Best to just but the full sets and enjoy your guitars.
