On occasion I will drink ice-coffee if it's a hot summer day. Generally speaking, I love my coffee hot and often.

Yes Robj, I spent the first 41 years of my life in Boston. I worked in the sleep disorders lab at BIDC; would get home in the am and eat whatever I had in the fridge.

Lightfoot's Don Quixote album, in 8 track format, was the soundtrack for a long trip (nearly 3 months) I took with my old college buddy Pete right after I graduated in '72. Camping at the worksite of a house we were helping Pete's brother build about 40 miles west of Boston, later chilling for a couple of weeks fishing and hiking and lazing around his family's tiny cabin in Back Creek Valley, WV, before returning to Austin, TX. Pete died way too early...20 years ago now...but songs off that album can make me feel his presence all over again.
So yeah. Thanks for that.
Dirk

Oops...so as to make this post more pertinent to the main subject of the thread: for the first couple of weeks camping on the house worksite, we had no electricity, but there was a deli of sorts a few minutes away, and early morning coffee runs became the norm for us before starting in on carpentry duties. No cold brew, of course. But that's where I learned that ordering coffee "regular" up in that part of the US meant with sugar and cream, not black as I first supposed when I heard the term.

Surprised you never got into iced coffee then. It's been popular in the northeast for a long time along with coffee milk.

I use the cold brew method with a strainer and glass decanter for storage in the fridge. I can get a 2 quart batch done in about 24 hours. This batch will last about 6 days and if I watch the batch getting low the next one is ready before I run out. Very easy and during Winter I like to nuke my morning cup.

With all this talk about cold coffee I’m glad a couple of people finally mentioned Iced coffee, which is a wonderful thing. Thai iced coffee is great too.
