Per Martin specs, your guitar already has a Tusq saddle.

Really? Been a few weeks and the saddle is already getting digged in good.

Yeah... check the specs on the Martin site. Maybe try bone.

Should be fine.
Heads up, though, that you may have to fine tune it with a bit of sandpaper. And you'll likely have to sand a bit off the bottom to get the action where you want. Both of those things are pretty straightforward.

It was perfect except it was too tall. I'm guessing it's because I have a wire in there acting as a shim. I sanded it down to exact height as my original tusq one. Am I nuts or does my guitar sound fuller with the bone saddle on it?

Not nuts, IMHO. I am not a Tusq fan, but that may be because bone is my default material for saddles and nuts. It depends on what you are used to hearing, and to a lesser degree, the response of that particular guitar. The downside is that bone is not as uniform in consistency as a synthetic, which may cause uneven string to string response when plugged in.

While it is true that bone varies in density, I have yet to encounter it as a problem. I have used bone nearly exclusively for my entire career, the exception being a few elephant Ivory saddles before it became a known PC error. Bone makes the better saddle, IMO, though Ivory is superior for the nut, again IMO. Tusq is too soft for clever intonation work, and sounds bright and thin to me.

Many like man-made materials like Tusq, Nubone or micarta, I'm not one of them. Bone saddles for all my acoustics. I hear the difference in tone but only with the saddle swap. Bridge pins and nuts are not of much concern to me, but bone for the saddle. Every time.
