Default NEW 2018 GIBSON LINE-UP

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/gibso...0580x143913860

Very interesting!! No more HP models. Hard to follow naming strategy (see avant garde models)

Awesome value in a standard production J-15 sunburst!!

What's with the factory installed strap buttons? Since when has Gibson been doing that? And is the AJ not in standard production?

or maybe they just changed the names of a couple? That J-45 Walnut AG looks quite a bit like the HP 415 , and the Parlor Rosewood looks like the HP 665.

I'm glad they got rid of this one.Even I paid so cheap from reverb for just $1,525 in brand new conditions but still not worth it. Sound horrible acoustically, so so with plug-in.They should put Fishman prefix plus-T instead of L.R.Baggs.

avant garde ? Maybe Dada and free jazz are back?

I noticed the less than 1 11/16" J45 avant garde nut width. No mention of saddle spread. That's weird or avant garde depending on how much hyperbole you want to assign that adjective.

Yes Paul, the all Mh could be a winner?

I would like to see some more 25.5" scale guits...AJ's, J200's etc.. in different woods. Euro spruce, Maple, etc.. Short scale wise I would also love a J45 TV cutaway with a compound radius 12-16".

Who knows those cutaway parlors might be very responsive instead of thick ladder braced? Hard to come to conclusions by judging a new model especially by only design, specs or picture.
I do look forward to any that sound great. They must have a good R&D budget. And if the aggressive naming of a few with avant garde is any indication they might have some real winners.

Aside from the renamed HPs (must have been poor sales in 17), I always love the Southern Jumbo. I also love that all hog.

Lots of models..... except for the AJ?

Anyone else notice another price increase? J-45 Standard went up $100 to $2499. Exact specs as 2017 model which retailed for $2399.

Are you sure that this is the complete Gibson line-up and not the Gibsons that MF will be selling?

My dream is they someday come out with a J45 with 1.75 nut width and 2 1/4 string spacing at the saddle. Maybe next year.

I would have a very hard time resisting that. The '18 L-00 12-fret looks real nice.
