Default Surprise NAD: Spark Mini

I ordered a Spark mini on 3/2 when the initial sale launched, then a few weeks later got a “due to Covid delays, your amp won’t ship until 6/5-6/12” (as, it seems, so did everyone else who has ordered one). So I was very pleasantly surprised to find mine on my porch this morning after FedEx stopped by…

Initial impressions so far:

- decent sound / volume for the size
- it’ll work well for what I wanted it for (very portable little practice amp)
- standard USB-C for the battery recharge is a nice touch
- power button seems a little touchy. Might break in with use, or might just break
- knob controls are stripped down greatly from the Spark 40, but in practice I’ve mostly used the app to control everything so that’s no big loss (to me)

Congrats on the Spark Mini. Is it a keeper?

Is it only battery / USB charge or does it also have a power adaptor?

It’s a keeper. I like the Spark and wanted a smaller battery powered version, and its exactly as advertised

It doesn’t come with a power adapter but it’s a 5V /2A USB-C so adapters are readily available and you likely have one already that will work to power it
