Default NGD - Harmony H72 reissue

So, I bought something the other day that was totally unplanned and rather spur of the moment. I did sell some things off to justify it. It is a 2021 Harmony H72 reissue. Made in Korea. I really like it and truly believe it is a keeper.

That is pretty cool TiffanyGuitar! Haven't had a chance to play one of these yet, but I dig a dbl cutaway. Fully hollow or semi?
Congrats!

It’s semi hollow. It has its own thing going on. Light weight at 7lbs. Sounds good. Action is dialed in low with no buzzing. Solid construction. Harmony says it is a limited run and they are only sold at the Harmony website.

I listened to a few soundclips. Those gold foil pickups sound real nice, both clean and crunchy.
Congrats again

Very cool guitar. I love the f-holes with the small apostrophe on each side. And I like that it's made in Korea rather than China. Congrats.

This thing might just become my favorite. The pickups are something special. Some of my oldest son's jazz playing friends came over last night and they couldn't put it down.

Got a soft spot in my heart for old Harmony guitars: both my wife and I had them (mine was a Broadway archtop, hers a nylon-string) when we started out in the early/mid-60's - as did every other kid in our neighborhood - and a single-cut Rocket or Meteor was many a tween-age student's first electric; I'm hoping that yours is merely the first in a reissue series based on their classic designs - as I recall they tried this a few years ago (including an acoustic Broadway reissue that I almost - and should have - bought) but it fell flat due to inadequate promotion...

BTW Eastwood also offers a number of reasonably-priced Korean-built reissues, based on the Airline-label guitars built for Montgomery Ward and complete with single-coil gold-foil pickup; they've received excellent reviews, and might be worth checking out if you have a preference for these '50s/60s student-level hollowbodies:

Use it well, often, and LOUD...
