Tommy Emmanuel, but for electric guitar?
Is there anyone doing what Tommy Emmanuel does, solo chord melody guitar playing, but with electric guitar rather than acoustic?
Just as I was typing that I thought "Chet Atkins" but anyone else? Jerry Reed & Mark Knopfler usually play with a band, and James Taylor seems to play mostly acoustic.

Tuck Andress, though his sound is somewhat acoustic.
A lot of the electric players I think of play less percussively/theatrically, but there's just tons of jazz solo guitar players...Joe Pass, Martin Taylor, George Van Eps, Bucky Pizzarelli, Johnny Smith etc... |

Check out Jake Reichbart. He has about 500 tunes up on YouTube. For many you can also purchase detailed lessons if so inclined.

Nathaniel Murphy at Chicago Music Exchange
https://youtu.be/1BJ6Qficleo Chris Buck makes the most tasteful ones, he has a unique picking style as well https://youtu.be/ed21oHiaFT0 Joey Wiedner is pretty new on YouTube compared to the other two, but looks to be doing arrangements as well and seems to have a similar style as Buck https://youtu.be/VEMdjF2E5oo |

Doyle Dykes is a great solo player, both acoustic and electric.

Andy Timmons from McKinney, TX plays electric guitar using chord melody playing. His tone is often over-driven, but it's very tasteful playing. This is his website. There is a page of videos on his website.
I saw him do a workshop presentation for Mesa amplifiers in Olympia and for years ago. He's a good guy, very down to earth. My son has a signature Andy Timmons Ibanez that is a wonderful sounding guitar. He is an excellent teacher and does a lot of teaching videos for TrueFire. YouTube is full of his stuff. - Glenn

I am sure I had seen some of his early videos of playing electric guitars. It could be a Telecaster or Stratocaster, but he sounded superb with electric guitars too, and I think he was in his 20s or early 30s.

Phil deGruy is another great player who is always playing out-of-the-box stuff on his 7-string “Guitarp” harp guitar.
