I forgot what the stripped down to the roots Willow sounded like. You know,
I show these videos to my musical pals and always hear the same response from them. “That guy is the real deal!”
I agree.

Hi Phil,

Thank you for your comments and for taking time to watch!

Yes, there are some long notes to hold in this song. It takes some immersion in a song like this and a lot of practice to sing this even close to well. But, being retired, I have time now. Like so much of music, I wanted to be able to sing and play this song, so I worked at it. As we both know, it all requires time and effort.

Thanks for your kind words, Phil! Much appreciated! I hope all is well for you!

- Glenn

Hi Acousticland,

I am so pleased that you like this! Thank you! Regarding my voice, I did have to work to sing this song with a softer character, especially the high notes. When a singer's vocal cords are not relaxed enough, that hard edge in a voice can creep in, which I also have a tendency to do if I have not practiced enough.

So thank you, I'm so glad you appreciated this.

I hope you are doing well!

- Glenn

Hi Kev,

Thanks for watching and for your comments!

Maybe you have to be a Linda Ronstadt enthusiast to know and remember this song. I'm surprised, actually, that folks don't seem to know this.

Thanks Kev! I hope all is well for you and your wife!

Hi Frank!

How wonderful to hear from you!

Yes, this video is stripped down to bare essentials, but I also know that there are a lot of people on the forum here who like only voice and guitar, so I thought I would keep this one simple. And sometimes that's what I want, too.

To me this song is so beautiful, even though it's sad, that I felt it could really work well with just voice and guitar.

I'm flattered that you sometimes share my stuff with your friends, Frank! That's very cool! I'm glad they are okay with it!

I hope you and your entire family are well.

- Glenn

Sounding excellent Glenn. I don't think I have seen that guitar before - it complements your voice wonderfully. Great stuff as always.

Hi Neil,

Thank you for watching and for your comments! I'm glad you thought this worked out okay.

The guitar was handmade by Gerald Sheppard back in 2010, if I remember correctly, Euro spruce over BRW built around a Grand Auditorium body. I bought it used from the guy it was actually built for. I'm very lucky to have it; it's a lovely guitar both in terms of looks and sound.

I hope you are doing well! I'm sure you're looking forward to summer as I am!

- Glenn
