Default Laurent Brondel A2 Final Pics

Howdy Folks, Final pics from my recent German Brazilian A2 X2 build thread, here is the link if you missed it...

https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=595664

The 3 main differences between the guitars are a 25.6 scale vs 25.375 scale, a snakewood fingerboard and bridge vs an ebony fingerboard and bridge, and one set of Brazilian is from an old reclaimed beam, vs the other set is old growth stump wood...

I'm quite surprised how different these two guitars are, I'm very pleased to open such different tonal worlds when I switch back and forth... in reality there is never a reason to build two guitars at the same time, lol, this is just my favorite hobby in life, and I party hard, so here we are... also Laurent and I completed some trade business we had together...

The 25.6 Burl guitar sounds similar to other A2's of his I've owned and played, but maybe a bit more warmth, which is nice because I do not have to be as precise... Laurent builds a guitar IMO with a very powerful laser clear note separation, very bold precise tone, and loud... all of which I'm very attracted to... but what I've found comes along with that, is one's sloppiness shines, lol... and I'm thinking this new Burl A2 has all those highlights I enjoy, and also a bit more warmth and forgiveness.... so yea, everything I want out of a guitar, came out PERFECT.... and one of the classiest sets of Brazilian I've EVER seen...

The 25.375 Snakewood really surprised me, I never imagined the fingerboard and bridge would add such a tonal character... I really just used snakewood for aesthetic purposes, but it really adds a cool sound too... Over the years I've owned 4 of Laurents guitars besides these, and played another 8 or so, and I've never heard one just like this, I can confidently say that snakewood is adding a unique touch... A bit of a cocobolo flavor, a heavy blooming richness, and kinda dark and haunting sounding, like African blackwood... Laurents guitars have plenty of clarity and brilliance, so it pairs nice with these flavors, I'm really excited every time I crack the case...

Both instruments turned out cooler than I imagined, perfect playability, tone and looks... I'm really excited to explore the opening up and dig in... so yea, mission success!

Thanks Mr Brondel

Just in time for the holidays!!!!

Big time congrats (AGAIN!). Those two axes look sublime. I'm a sucker for Laurent's appointments, particularly the burl, and these guitars do not disappoint!

Please delete my phone number from your phone. That's all I ask.

Play those two in good health!!!

Stunning! I know I’ll have a Brondel someday. He’s my favorite luthier that I’ve played but don’t own. What a talent. Play them in good health.

Stunning. The tasteful simplicity of the ornamentation really appeals to me. Less is more. Let the wood, the structural and acoustic design, and the craftsmanship "do the talking".
