Mic stand for TC Helicon Perform VG

Hi Guys,
I just purchased a TC Helicon Perform VG. I clips on to the upper portion of the vertical part of the mic stand. I have one good stand (in which the diameter of this one is too large for the VG to fit) and one that is broke that fits perfect. The diameter I need is 1/2” but I think most are around 5/8”.

Do any of you have a mic stand you can measure to see what the upper, vertical tube is? That’s the extension that adjust the height. I am just curious of the brand/make/model. Anything you can share.

This will be primarily for home use, so it would rarely be moved. I do use a boom attachment and play seated - mostly.

Just measured (micrometer) four mic stands upper extension. All are 5/8" and different brands. They kinda need to be 5/8" for the threaded part.
I have read the Perform series do fit very tightly to a mic stand and supposedly TCH states they won't break. My Perform V is very tight going on, but the hooks do flex to accommodate the fit. Long term I don't know if they would ever lose flexibility and perhaps snap off.

I don't have a Helicon Perform VG but I do have three VoiceSolo personal monitors which attach using a similar system. They fit snugly but securely on all the mic stands I've tried, including Beyer Dynamic, Stagg, K&M and a couple of others.

Thank you Mark. I posted on the forum on music tribe (Behringer Group that now owns TC) and the moderator said 3/8” is best. Who makes a 3/8” top tube. I have never seen one that small.

I have a mic boom arm that has a 3/8" extension tube with a 5/8" thread on the end. I just tried mounting my Perform V onto it. It slipped on super easily and flopped around loosely and definitely won't stay in place. It may have been a moderator on that forum, but I would say he/she is 100% incorrect unless TCH had changed the mount design which I doubt.

I'm hesitant to suggest a very light film of lubricant applied to the VG's rubber grip, but perhaps something silicone based (not a petroleum base which could harm rubber) or a wax may aid in easing slipping it on.

Edit: I went the MusicTribe site (I'm a member of that forum) and found your post. The person that responded is a product specialist, but for their line of 'Loudspeakers'. Not sure if it was a typo or his knowledge of the VG and US mic stands may be lacking. He mentioned Thomann which primarily is a European retailer. In Europe a 3/8" thread is commonly used to mount mic clips versus the US that uses a 5/8' thread. You may have seen the adapters sometimes included with a mic that adapt a 3/8" mic clip to a 5/8". I believe he got confused about how the Perform series mounts.

Thank you Mark. I have it mounted on a AirTurn stand which has a 1/2” tube. It fits well, but the stand it broke (problem with the legs) and I just ordered a new one today. It wasn’t my first choice but the guys from AirTurn made me a good deal on a replacement.
