Default Reverb Unit recommendations...

I have got a good acoustic setup going: Rane AP13 preamp, Hafler 3000 amp to Daedalus W803.

I am looking for a good quality reverb.
It could certainly have some other usable fx. I generally like it sound as natural as possible.
Looking to spend around $100 and "used" is an option.

A used TC Electronic M2000 or M3000 are excellent effect units worthy of and compatible with integration into a Rane AP13/Hafler/Daedalus system.

Pretty much anything will do but in the price range give the TC Hall of Fame (original or version 2), Digitech RV-7/Polara (same pedal), Boss RV-6, and/or Tc Hall of Fame mini a try. All will sound fantastic. Lr Baggs also just released their align series reverb pedal but I wouldn't expect to find too many used just yet.

I recently had a ve8 by boss. I did not particularly
like the eq but i loved the effects . The combo of tremelo and
reverb used sparingly was the sound i was looking for.
I had the HOF but could not warm up to it.
I now have a strymon flint . This gives me the trem and reverb
and much better than the boss . Unfortunate to be out
of your price range. When i used to carry a rack case around
I had an old alesis midiverb . This was a multi effects unit
that i thought sounded awesome with acoustic guitar .
I got mine on ebay for 50 bucks. I think i read somewhere
Tommy Emanuel uses the same thing. It's old tech but so is reverb. ha

Thanks guys, varmonter: Yes In the 90's I had an Alesis Quadraverb. was supposed to be a very good reverb for the time.

Neunaber’s Wet reverb is also worth checking out.

I did considerable research and landed on the MXR M300. Easy to use, many options, sounds great.

The Quadraverb was awesome! Everyone said Lexicon was quieter, but my Quadraverb was nearly perfect. Of course, as did lots of folks in the 80s and 90s, I way overused it, with too much Reverb, too much chorus, too much of just about everything. But those massively parametric effects were best in class. I continued using it as my stage delay (more control than a delay pedal) well into the 2000s.

BOSS RV-3 Digital Delay/Reverb. Let's you have deals, reverb, or mixtures of both. BEST single pedal ever made, IMO.

Yes, too much of everything, swimming in fx. I think my favorite outside the box was the ring modulator.
Now I am looking at slightly more high end, the old racks at a good price rather than pedals.
The lexicons, xheaper models and the Ibanez SDR-1000 (Sony Mu-r201 seems to be an old favorite.

Any thoughts on maybe kickin' up to $200 ceiling now?

I also clearly am a non-tech thinking person. I just need someone to tell me, plug into that and go out with this cable. I keep buying the wrong cables and the Rane/Hafler manuals are very good in getting across the lay of the land.

But I was trying to go 1/4" into my Rane just mono for starters, with the piezo.

I can go out using the piezo output to my Hafler 1/4" still.

Can? and should? I be able to use any of the balanced xlr outputs from the Rane to the Hafler.

And when I pick a reverb rack, where would the best place be for it in the signal chain?

Insert...send return?

Thanks guys, i wish I had a bit more intuition when it comes to this. But whatever side of the brain it is, I am apparently keeping empty for storage of other trivial meanderings.

I've used many reverbs and recorded with them too. I had the Strymon Big Sky and Blue sky, Boss RV-3, RV-5, I have the RV-6 now. I had the Digitech Supernatural, digiverb, and Polara. Without naming the racks and others, in my studio now I use the TC HOF 2. Its much improved and I use the tone prints to grab what I need to record with.
