"Well hold on a minute, if its not a 'so and so' dual source high doller pickup system running through 'so and so's' high doller preamp/blender then it must be crap, cause we all know that Baggs is all bout nothing but price point", he says with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

Seriously, at my Wed night gig I did a little more tweaking with my eq, and I tell you what, I was grinnin I was so happy with the sound I was getting with the Anthem. After about ten minutes I totally forget about my rig and just play music.

Please explain yourself....I'm not sure if I need to try to kick your butt or thank you...The Anthem "is" a Dual source...it's not really that high dollar (under $200)....I installed it myself...and I think it's the best thing out there...you can spend more money on the Anthem if you want the "more adjustable" version..

I posted my impressions of the Anthem after I installed it a few weeks ago and a few of the forum members poo-poo'ed on it (the Anthem) basically dismissing it out of hand (the thread is titled "Anthem installed/first impressions"). My post on this thread was me basically mocking their posts.

Nice to hear a first hand report... be sure to post when you get to hear it / play it through a nice PA, won't you?

I'm always both excited and a bit leery of "new" pick-ups for acoustics, as many have disappointed in the past, but I have been following all the posts about the Anthem with a good deal of interest.

I was just visiting with James Goodall and he made an interesting point about the Anthem (albeit w/ a very sour expression!) - that point being that he didn't fancy hanging something of "weight" off one of his soundboards! James said he talked with Lloyd about it and that Lloyd said he'd have one within a year that did not attach to the face at all...

Glad you like the new system! Enjoy... and more reports, please!

John Seth Sherman

"...with her charcoal eyes and Monroe hips
she went and took that California trip.
The moon was gold - her hair like wind;
she said "Don't look back, just come on, Jim",
you've got to hold on..."

James Goodall's comments aside, the Anthem system was sounding pretty darn good with the Goodall guitar in Jarvis's vids.

I love it! James has VERY discerning tastes, especially when it comes to his guitars... actually, I'd venture to say with ANYTHING he cares about, LOL!

Glad to hear that the Anthem sounds really good in one of his guitars...
