Larrivee. I’d absolutely love my L if it had a thicker neck.

many years ago I had an L03R that had a chunky neck, perhaps look for an older model

All the new Martins. Martin just changed their standard line to 1.75" nut and a thin neck profile (to compete with Taylor...meanwhile Taylor is beefing up their necks haha). Try the new Martin standard series.

^^^ This. I am someone who prefers a 1 11/16” nut (almost entirely regardless of neck profile). The Martin MLO w/ PA taper is the closest I have found to suit my liking in a 1 3/4” nut - largely due to the depth of the neck.

I can live with it, but Froggy Bottom’s standard carve is too thin for my preference.

Maybe Larrivee has changed theirs, but I loved the profile of a 90’s OM I once owned.

I have a 2015 Pono 000 with the thinnest neck I've played for a 1.75. Don't know if that is true for all models or all years. JJ1

Agreed. I find the new MLO w/PA taper to be among the thinnest necks I’ve played. I ordered a custom Martin with MLO but no PA taper and that helps fill things out somewhat.

My 1981 all solid wood Aria SW-8. It's a mahogany dread with a cedar top.

It has a neck that is amazing - even better than my Taylors. If I ever commission a custom build I am going to spec this neck geometry.

The neck feels so tiny, yet it is solid and sturdy at the same time.

I really liked the neck on my Pono O - as you described here. I think that I got it in 2014.

Best,
Jayne

+1 on that. shallow (but not drastically).

even shallower - Walden guitars (now out of production) but their upper-line fingerstyle models had 1 3/4 with very shallow neck profiles. perhaps the most shallow I've encountered....

Sounds as if you've ruled out Taylors, but the two 90's Taylors I own (512, 612) have the thinnest necks I have ever owned, short of electrics, and I have been through 75+ late model and vintage guitars over the last 20 years.

I have about a dozen good quality acoustic guitars and I also have a bunch of electric guitars. I have a 2002 Taylor 514CE that has a fairly thin neck but a 1.75" nut width.

However, my Olson SJ -- which is an expensive guitar -- has by far the thinnest neck profile I have ever experienced on an acoustic guitar. This guitar also has a 1.75" nut width.

The neck thickness on the Olson SJ is similar to the neck thickness on my 1978 Gibson ES-335 except that the Gibson has a narrower nut width.

I have played a lot of guitars over 54 years of serious playing. In my experience, there is nothing close to the thin neck on this Olson SJ. I bought mine used from a fellow AGF-er and my Olson is not terribly fancy. So it was not as expensive as some Olson SJ models with more bling.

The guitar used for the lead guitar work on this song, "Hello," is the Olson SJ I am referring to, though you can't tell from the video how thin the neck is.

I don't know if I'm getting too far from the original question but somewhat recently I owned a 12 string Seagull Walnut whose width was so thin I couldn't play it very cleanly but I also think the width was wider than 1.75"

A 12 sting width on a thin neck became almost impossible to fret cleanly...

Of course this could have just been how my hand is built (long fingers on a hand that can easily palm a basketball) plus what seems to be the onset of some arthritis in my fretting hand.

I've found every Seagull that I've tried to play has a very thin neck.

Best,
PJ

That's odd... I had one of their ukes and it had a neck carved like a baseball bat
