Question Fender Hot Rod

I played my Taylor 710ce at a party a couple of weeks ago. Someone brought a Fender Hot Rod (40 watts) and Line 6 POD for their Strat. I pugged in to the "clean" channel out of curiousity. The sound was pretty good, but not as good as my Cali Blonde. I did not have the chance to tweek the nobs to adust the tone and bring everything to my liking. Anyone try the Hot Rod? I'm thinking about the next generation of Ultrasound with two guitar jacks but the Hot Rod has my interest (small, light and decent tone?)

Hiya Jack. Typically, you could tweak all night and never be satisfied with the sound of an electric guitar amp when used with an acoustic. While acoustic guitar amps have hi-fidelity and wide bandwidth. Tube guitar amps like the Hot Rod are designed with limited bandwidth (to craft the electric tone) and are designed to distort easily, not typically desirable for an acoustic.
